Education & Experience
Will Childers focuses his practice on assisting community associations in interpreting, drafting, and enforcing their governing documents, as well as providing comprehensive litigation support to their respective associations. Will also assists employers and carriers throughout South and North Carolina with various workers compensation and employment issues.
Will was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2012 and North Carolina Bar in 2013. He graduated from the Charleston School of Law Magna Cum Laude in May 2012. During law school, he was a Merit Scholarship Recipient and earned CALI Awards in Torts, Sports Law, and Law in Literature. After graduating law school, he worked at the South Carolina Court of Appeals as a staff attorney / senior staff attorney, where he gained invaluable legal research and writing experience through preparing bench memoranda and proposed opinions for cases submitted without oral argument, as well as presenting recommendations to the Judges and drafting proposed orders for the disposition of motions. Will concluded his time with the court serving as a law clerk to Chief Judge James E. Lockemy where he assisted in presenting recommendations and drafting published opinions for a variety of different appeals, including workers’ compensation and general civil litigation.
After leaving the Court of Appeals, Will served as an associate at an insurance defense firm in Greenville where he assisted in defending workers’ compensation claims for employers and carriers throughout South Carolina.
Will is a native of Laurens, South Carolina, and a proud graduate of Clemson University. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Greenville County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association. In his spare time, Will serves as a Board member for Genesis Homes, a non-profit corporation that serves to provide housing for lower income families in Greenville and Laurens Counties. Will enjoys spending time with his wife, Carolyn, and their two dogs. He can be found in Death Valley on football Saturdays in the fall. He also enjoys golf and running.
